The license logic on Masterplan is based on a person-specific assignment model, ensuring clear and transparent allocation across the organization.
How does license assignment work?
Each license is assigned per person. This means every invited user consumes one license – regardless of whether the account has already been fully registered or not.
As soon as a person is invited, the license is automatically allocated to that user.
Is there a license pool?
No. There is no central license pool. Licenses are strictly assigned on a per-person basis:
- 1 person = 1 license
- Each license is linked to an individual user (e.g., learner or manager, depending on the setup)
Can unused licenses be reassigned?
Yes. Unused or freed-up licenses can be moved or reassigned between managers. This allows organizations to flexibly distribute available capacity where it is needed.
Can licenses be released again?
Yes. If a user account is deactivated, the associated license is released and becomes available again for reuse.
Can manager assignments be changed?
Yes. Manager assignments can be adjusted at any time. This is particularly useful when organizational structures change, for example when a user’s line manager changes.
Are there alternatives to individual assignments?
In certain cases, a shared account can be used, for example:
- a central People & Development account (e.g., peopledevelopment@...)
This is often used for centralized administration, testing purposes, or specific organizational scenarios.
